Giving Back at the DAV Homeless Stand Down
Veteran Debt Assistance proudly participated in the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Homeless Veterans Stand Down — an annual community event dedicated to supporting veterans experiencing homelessness or living at risk of homelessness. Hosted at DAV National Headquarters in Erlanger, Kentucky, the Stand Down brings together DAV, the Cincinnati VA Medical Center, and a variety of community partners to provide critical services aimed at meeting both immediate and long-term needs of veterans.
Each year, the Stand Down connects more than 200 Tri-State area veterans with essential support, including hot meals, flu shots, haircuts, legal services, social-service guidance, benefits assistance, employment counseling, health-care screenings, and care bags filled with necessities. The event addresses the complex factors that can lead to homelessness — such as unemployment, service-related injuries, mental health challenges, and difficulties transitioning to civilian life — by ensuring veterans can access the resources that help break the cycle of instability.
Veteran Debt Assistance was honored to serve again as an event sponsor. Our team engaged directly with veterans throughout the day, offering encouragement and distributing warm, 100% American-made apparel. Beyond helping meet immediate needs, our staff provided guidance on financial wellness, debt-relief options, and long-term financial stability — empowering veterans with tools to move toward greater independence and confidence in their futures.
Support for this initiative reflects our commitment to standing alongside veterans of all eras, especially those facing hardship. Events like the DAV Stand Down allow us to connect with veterans in the moments when help can make the greatest difference.
Veteran Debt Assistance is grateful to DAV, the Cincinnati VA Medical Center, and all sponsors who made this Stand Down possible. Together, we remain dedicated to ensuring every veteran has access to dignity, stability, and the resources they deserve.
